MASA KUMTA

THE BERET MARCH

Raising Money for Broken Spirits Here and In Israel

The Mission

After completing 3 months of basic training every IDF combat soldier undergoes one last great test to prove their worth:

Masa Kumta - The Beret March.

This October  24 Torontonians are heading to Israel to "feel" what it's like to be a soldier in the coveted IDF. This enormous undertaking raises funds for Brothers for Life, an Israeli wounded veteran support organization, and Beth Sholom Synagogue and its Out of the Cold Homeless Project.

DAYS & NIGHTS IN THE FIELD

“I was amazed to find myself for days in the Israeli desert, under the sun and stars, wearing army fatigues, carrying 40 pound packs, walking up to 30 km per day, sleeping on the ground, eating olives and canned tuna for lunch, taking weapons training and unit formations, bonding with 18 other men who become your family by the end of this  physical and mental journey. When it was all done all I could do is count my blessings. This trip is meant to be a challenge. It’s meant to push and inspire. If you let it: it will do all that and more."
